Sayur Tumis - Stir-fried Vegetables

Here's another quick and easy dish that is in our vegetarian section of our menu at KLUB KOKOS. It may be easily converted to a meat dish if you so wish.

Ingredients:

long beans
carrots
cabbage
garlic
red onions
small amount of tomato
(or any other vegetables that you may have available)
salt
pepper
chicken stock
chili (optional)
fresh ginger (optional)

Method:

1. Chop vegetables into long matchsticks and wash in warm salted water. Drain.
2. Heat a tablespoon of oil in wok, then add garlic, onion, chili, pepper and ginger. Stir-fry the mixture in oil for about 3 minutes, until the onion turns clear.
3. Add vegetables, salt and crumbled chicken stock. Stir continually for a few minutes until cooked.

Serve immediately with steamed rice.

(Chicken, beef or pork may be added to this recipe if so desired. Meat should be cut into thin strips and added together with the garlic, etc. in Step 2, and cooked before adding vegetables.)
