The new school year begins in Bali in the month of July. This year KLUB KOKOS is proud to coordinate the sponsorship of 62 of the local children. This has been possible with the help of so many of our guests and other friends that have continued to financially support our encouragement of the youth of this area to continue with their education. For this we thank you very much.

School supplies packaged ready for distributionAt the beginning of the new school year, as for the previous two years, we made up packages of essential stationery materials for each of these students, as well as new school bags for those about to begin in a new school. With so many students now receiving educational support, it was like 'Christmas in July'.

Some of the students who were a part of our initial drive to help prevent the dropping out of children from school after six years of primary education back in 1998 have now reached senior high school this year.

Preparing a letter to send to Penola High School students in South AustraliaCathy has continued to teach at the Sebali Primary School this year. Lately her English classes for the Years 4, 5 and 6 classes have been writing letters to a Year 8 English class at Penola High School in South Australia. Their teacher, Mrs. White, has been involved in a project with her students this term constructing a variety of games and Sebali Primary students prepare letters to send to Penola High School students in South Australia props to aid students here in learning English. The students here eagerly await the arrival of Mrs. White and her husband in January, when she will be able to pass on to them the fruits of her students' efforts.

We were all very saddened when the Principal of the Sebali Primary School died two months ago after a prolonged illness. It is hoped that it won't be too long before the school finds a new head to continue to encourage an improvement in the standard of education for the youngsters of this area.
