(Rendang - Javanese Spicy Beef)

Having already made mention of the wedding of one of our cooks, Ketut Mariani, to our favourite driver, Ketut Partha, it should be noted that we now have a special page on our web site to introduce our guests to all the staff and other personalities that work closely with us at KLUB KOKOS. We try to make guests feel at home when they stay with us, and so the opportunity to learn more about the people around you that care for your needs while on holiday here is important. As KLUB KOKOS grows to its completion, so too have our staff numbers grown, the latest being a girl from this village called Putu. Putu is yet to appear on our personalities page as, after two weeks working in our kitchen, she is now having some time off in preparation for her wedding to a boy from Bangkiang Sidem. More news of this in our next newsletter, along with another possible wedding for whom I had thought was our most eligible bachelor, Putu Gatra!

Ibu Ketut and son

Buldog and family

We also show a keen interest in the development of the children of our staff as they grow. Here we see Ibu Ketut, another one of our cooks at KLUB KOKOS, taking time off from our kitchen to help with all the cooking done for Madé's wedding. Her son is growing into a chubby little toddler now, soon to reach his second birthday.

Now that Buldog has found accommodation for his wife and son in the nearby village of Kedewatan instead of them living with his family in Singaraja in Northern Bali, we occasionally get a visit from them as well.

Ayu's elder daughterWhen a baby sitter isn't readily available for Ayu, quite often we see her two young daughters here for the day at KLUB KOKOS. Here her elder daughter shows a curiosity for the digital camera that is used to capture her photo.

Michael Newman's birthday celebration at Klub Kokos

An early Thanksgiving feast in Bali

Megan and Terry Rohde celebrating their anniversary at Klub Kokos

We love to be able to help our guests to celebrate any special occasion that they might have while staying with us at KLUB KOKOS. Here Michael Newman celebrates his birthday with family and friends during his holiday here in July.

Thanksgiving came a month early here at Bangkiang Sidem when one of our favorite visitors, Richard Hausner (alias Mr Garden Salad) returned to KLUB KOKOS with all of the ingredients in hand to cook us a marvelous turkey dinner! Here to celebrate with us also was John Schumann of "I've Been to Bali Too" fame from his days as the vocalist for the Australian group, Redgum.

And just this month we were able to provide a romantic dinner for Megan and Terry Rohde as they celebrated their wedding anniversary at KLUB KOKOS.
