As the year rapidly draws to a close, it is a time to let you all know of how developments are progressing at KLUB KOKOS. It seems that everything has moved so slowly this year, except for time. Hopefully you will enjoy reading about some of the activities that have filled our days over the past six months. And may this Christmas / Lebaran / New Year season be a safe and happy one for you, from all of us at KLUB KOKOS.

The completion of the gallery is so close now. Apart from some more electrical work needed, there is just a little more tiling to be done now, as well as shelving to be installed. Because of the huge size of this final building to complete the whole of the KLUB KOKOS complex, everything has taken much longer than we were expecting to be completed. A date had been set for the end of November for the Grand Opening of the KLUB KOKOS complex, but this once again had to be delayed, due to a number of occurrences, mainly to do with some ceremonies that clashed with this time. But more of that later.

Now, as Cathy and daughter Kristi are about to depart for South Australia to spend two weeks with family over Christmas, a new date will be sought from the Balinese Calendar on their return for the Opening in the New Year. As soon as this date has been determined we will let you know of the elaborate program of events that we will stage in honour of the occasion, involving many people of this community.

We are very excited about all of the extra facilities this new area of KLUB KOKOS will provide for our guests. Already the shelving for our library area is being installed, providing a good collection of reading material for young and old, as well as a variety of games and jigsaws. We are also hoping to soon purchase a table tennis table to put in the upstairs open area above the gallery, where guests may challenge any of our staff to a game. This spacious floor area will be most useful when we entertain school groups or common interest groups at KLUB KOKOS. It is an ideal venue to hold the various workshops and seminars that we organize for these groups. And, as the world moves further away from the postcard era to sending emails to your friends and family as you travel, our guests will be able to spend time in the office off the gallery sending and receiving emails from all over the world. Also at the back of the gallery we have a special center for our younger guests, where they can find a colorful collection of toys.
